Blue Flag Beaches of Ireland 2020

Get planning your summer holiday with details of the Blue Flag Beaches awards of 2020.   The Blue Flag Scheme for beaches and Marina’s is operated by a Taisce – National Trust for Ireland on behalf of the Foundation for the Environmental Education (FEE). The Blue Flag is one of the most recognised eco-labels and in 2020 Ireland had  80 Blue Flag Beaches and 7 marinas

Beaches and marinas must comply with specific water quality safety, beach management, environmental education and information provision. The seawater must comply with the 2006 EU Bathing Standards Directive. A beach may lose the Blue Flag during a summer season if it does not meet the required standards and can apply for it again for the following year.
