Wild atlantic Way

The wild Atlantic Way is a driving route from Cork to Donegal of 2500 km long and is the longest driving route in the world. The drive would take about 7 days, conservatively to drive, as the roads are narrow and there are no motorways or highways. The Northern end of the Wild Atlantic Way is from Galway, Mayo, Sligo, and Donegal, with wilder scenery along the route.  The region of Connemara, Aran Islands, Clifden, Westport,  Achill Island, Ceide Fields, Sligo, Sliabh Liag Cliffs, and Ireland’s most northern point at Malin Head. So much great scenery all along the route, and lots of great activity.

The southern end of the route from  Shannon Airport has Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Clare can be travelled in the southern part of the route. The treasures of Castles and grand houses, island and lighthouses, headlands and cliffs of Moher are in this region. Ireland’s most southern point is Mizen Head Lighthouse.

Dublin

Dublin is a vibrant, friendly city with the island’s main airport to the northern side of the city and a center that is buzzing and the hills of Wicklow to the south.  On the eastern side of the city is the Irish Sea with access from UK and EU ports. The spine of the city is the river Liffey with many bridges connecting the north and south side of the city.  Dublin is alive with historical buildings and heritage museums, castles and parks, art galleries and wall art, traditional pubs playing music, and hip cafes. You can feel the Viking past on the river, the 18th century in the many city parks and squares, and the modern city with its vibrant shopping areas and modern docklands area. This is a city alive to its literary heritage, celebrated in its music, theatres, and cultural scene.
