Holiday Planning at Activity Days
Ireland Holiday Planning. Best Activity and Experiences.
What Can Activity Days Planning Offer
Based in Blarney, Ireland is our home and we have worked in tourism for decades. Ireland has plenty of spectacular scenery, is a great place to relax, and also has many exciting activities for those who want a more active holiday. Beaches are open to all, there are Greenways for safe cycling and lots of ancient sites, music, and culture to explore and enjoy. There are direct connections with many EU countries and the US and as a small country, you can see a lot of it in a short space of time.
At Activity Days we specialize in the Wild Atlantic Way, Cork, and Dublin but can organize anywhere in Ireland, north or south, for you. We offer the widest range of guided and self-guided activities in Ireland. You can request any of these activities, a number of them in a package, a multi-day booking, or a bespoke service to design a complete holiday for you. An itinerary for a one-day or multi-day trip can be put together for your group to ensure you do not miss the highlights and hidden gems of Ireland. There are some great road trips, many heritage sites, old ruins, and scenic spots for those Instagrammable photos. Before you contact us have a look at the various blogs on the best of Ireland on our website.
How to book:
- For a single activity book direct on the site and we will confirm availability.
* For multiple activities on one day or over a few days send an inquiry via email stating your preferred dates, interests, and requirements and the number in your party.
* For the bespoke tour, we can organize private activities with a guide. We can also plan and organize a luxury holiday for you. This can include accommodation in luxury hotels or in private apartments or houses and is tailor-made to suit your needs.
How Do We Charge
Prices for individual activities are listed on the website and are all-inclusive.
For a group or for multi-day activities we take a booking deposit which is offset against the total price of the trip.
For a tailor-made service, we offer a free 15-minute phone consultation and for longer consultations, a fee applies as we are offering expert advice on a professional basis. If you wish to proceed we then ask for a planning fee payment of €150.
Trip Planning
Give us a list of all your requirements, with approximate dates and a wish list of what you want to see. We can then devise an offering to meet your requirements, which can take up to 20 hours. The plans are developed for couples, family groups, multi-generational groups, and groups of friends. The full trip is costed, and people can opt-out of any activity on the list, giving a breakdown of individual costs if needed. Details of the trip are presented on a daily list and each person can let the lead booker know their preferences. The booking fee is discounted from the final booking price. An hourly planning consultation fee can be charged if you wish to have a phone consultation.
A deposit is paid by the Lead Booker who is responsible for the trip. All charges for the trip will be made via the lead booker and can be paid by card or bank transfer in Euros. If you want to transfer the charges from US Dollars then the exchange rate on the day of transfer will be the price charged.
The remainder of the fee for the trip is requested 2 months in advance of the trip, with final payments 50 days before the trip commencement date.
Cancellation Policy:
If the trip is canceled more than 50 days before the commencement date the deposit and planning fee is forfeit. If the trip is canceled less than 50 days before the commencement date then 50% of the price will be charged. We will try to ensure that the trip can be re-booked for different dates but within 50 days of arrival, this cannot be guaranteed.
We are just a phone call away while you are in Ireland in case you have any problems or questions, to help you to have a relaxing, safe, and enjoyable holiday. If Covid-19 affects your group we will work with you to organize accommodation while you recover. We can also advise on Covid testing centers so you can take a Fit To Fly test before returning home to the US.
The Time-Scale for Trip Planning
Planning a holiday takes time and effort and you want the best value for your money so do not expect a plan to be put together at short notice. Ireland, like other countries, is busy in the Summer months so to get the best experiences and adventures, accommodation and transport options you need to plan at least 2 months in advance and planning in December for the following summer is not too early.
Sustainable Tourism has become important to us all. You can travel the Wild Atlantic Way by electric car or use public transport via bus and train. You can choose sustainable activities and experiences with local guides along the way. Each of the expert local guides lives and works in the area and they, in turn, spend their income locally which helps to support rural communities.
Good to know
Flights – We do not book flights to Ireland but you have a number of options to reach Ireland from North America.
Visas – We cannot arrange Visas for visitors to Ireland.
Insurance – We strongly recommend you have travel insurance for the trip, including cover for Covid which might delay your return home.
We do not earn commission on pubs or restaurants we recommend.
Transport – We can offer a car hire service or chauffeur or you can book your own.
Affiliate Activity – some of the companies we work with provide services that require certain skills or qualifications such as PADI diving certification. For these activities, we can give you the link for direct booking as you have to provide certification details to the companies concerned.
Fitness Level – Details of the fitness requirement for each activity are provided in the bio and you must have the level of health and fitness required. If you break a leg you cannot take a sea safari, If you are unfit you cannot take a walking guided trip and if have a bad back avoid the horse riding. If these activities are booked then it is your responsibility to be fit enough.
Holidays have changed due to Covid and there is more demand for independent and self-contained holidays while still interacting with and enjoying meeting Irish people. The local expert guides and experience providers are the people who make the holiday so enjoyable. One or two activities per day can really enhance your experience of Ireland.
