Buying and Delivery of Garden Plants in Cork.
The Covid-19 travel restrictions have affected all of us and we at ActivityDays.ie have got back to gardening in a big way. We have weeded the flower beds, pruned the fruit bushes, enriched the soil and moved plants. Whether you have a garden or a balcony you probably want to get growing – it’s a great way to keep the children occupied. Now it’s time to plant vegetables. I buy tomato, lettuce, courgette and pea plants now for use in the next few weeks. I also plant radish, lettuce, beans and pea seeds which will continue to the autumn, when the early purchased plants are spent.
Here is a list of places to buy equipment and supplies in Cork city and county. Google is listing some of these suppliers as being “Temporarily Closed”. The best place to check if they have a delivery system or click and collect is on Facebook rather than their websites. The best thing to do is to phone with your order, especially for the small producers with only a phone number. Many small producers sell most of their vegetable and bedding plants at markets in the next 6 weeks usually, and again have difficulty in accessing customers. There are many small producers who supply plants at local markets who have no route to market at present. Many businesses have adapted and have a delivery service or click and collect.
