Best local Food Festivals In Ireland 2019
Ireland is the home of great food and we take for granted that much of our food is locally grown. We love our fresh food, be it fish, meat, drinks or cheese and dairy products. The Festivals listed below are my favourite annual food events using fresh locally produced ingredients. Each has its own focus so decide which Festival you would most enjoy. The Food Festival season starts in May and runs until November with a lot of Festivals taking place during harvest season in the Autumn. Failte Ireland has launched an initiative called Taste The Island – further details on this will follow in the next Food Blog.
There are festivals on all throughout the year, but here are my favourite foodie festivals in Ireland.

The June bank holiday weekend is always Strawberry Festival time in Wexford town in the heart of Ireland’s soft fruit growing area with a Strawberry Queen, All Ireland Farmer’s Market competition, cookery demonstrations and lots of strawberries. |
