Frequently Asked Questions


The activity list offered here is extensive and each activity can be booked directly, or a gift voucher purchased. For packages and group booking where more than one activity is booked a booking deposit of €200 will be requested to cover planning costs. This will be offset against the money due for the service-be that multiple activities, accommodation, transport. The packages can include car hire, accommodation in Hotels, B&B’s, Self-catering accommodation and local guides. If there is a choice of activity you must specify the activity at the time of booking. Some activities may be canceled due to adverse weather conditions. Your safety is always our greatest consideration and our guides will always be aware of local conditions.
Flights are not included as part of the trip. Meals or drinks are not provided as part of the trip. We can book picnics or recommend our favorite local restaurants in advance of your arrival. Medical expenses, entrance fees to theatres, museums, or parks are not included. Any extra optional activities you wish to do during your holiday are not included. Gratuities are not included.
Accommodation – The accommodation provided is either in
  1. Hotels (with breakfast included) or Country Houses
  2. In bed and breakfast establishments
  3. In Self Catering properties which can hold a specific number of people.
  4. We use the words Select and Economy in our accommodation provision. We book the hotels in each area for views, character or proximity to an activity. The Select hotels are the best available in the area and Economy refers to a hotel with a lower star rating or a Bed and Breakfast establishment, usually run by a family.
  5. All rooms are en-suite and for two people, unless otherwise specified.
  6. For single occupancy a supplement applies so travel with friends if you can.
  7. We can book hotels with swimming pools, fitness centres or spa treatment if requested in advance and available in the area.
  8. We request rooms to be ready for your arrival but most hotels don’t guarantee room availability until 3pm. Luggage can be stored with the hotel porter service until your room is ready.
Flight, Ferry or other transport to or from Ireland. Travel Visa for Ireland - If you are not from a European Union Country you may need a VISA. Car Hire and other transport are booked for you - but please read the information below on each one before booking. Activity Days is an inbound Travel Agent for Ireland who will book the best local activity for you, with accommodation and transport. The office is manned during business hours of 10am to 5pm, with email contact outside these hours to team@activitydays.ie  . We are not a 24 hours a day service. We may be guiding a group and not able to come to the phone directly but will phone you back within a few hours. We value all our customers and want to give full attention to those we dealing with, so please excuse any short delays in replying to you.
For 1 Activity - Activity Days Ireland Ltd can organize a single activity  - payment due in full within 24 hours of receipt of the payment link, which is confirmation of the activity being available at the time asked for. An email detailing the activity with date, time, number in group, and contact details as given will also be sent to you. If you do not pay within 24 hours, it will be assumed that the activity booking is canceled. For packages of Activity, with Accommodation and or Transport - For groups of 2-6 people a 40% deposit is required on booking within 48 hours of the confirmation of the package offered. This will be sent via email.  Payment can be via our card payment system Splink, via Strip or by Bank Transfer for amounts over €400, if you wish.  For 7+ people a 25% booking deposit is required. Any booking can be changed up to 6 weeks before the departure of the trip, but accommodation and guides may have a no refund policy. Please note your deposit is non-refundable. For Tailor Made Packages-  A deposit of €400 is required to put the package together for you. This amount will be used for research and putting the Tailor Made package together and be part of the payment for the trip. If I Book a Package when is Final Payment Due? The balance of the money due including any surcharges must be paid to the Company or their agents not later than 56 days prior to departure. In the case of non-payment of the balance by the due date, the company reserves the right to cancel your booking and cancellation charges will apply. Booking Becoming Definite -A booking is accepted and becomes definite only from the date when the company sends a confirmation. It is at this point that a contract between the company and the client comes into existence. Once we receive your deposit and having accepted your booking form, the contract between us will become binding and we will send you an invoice for the balance and advise you of the date for payment of the same.
The main airports in Ireland are in Dublin, Shannon, Cork and Belfast with smaller airports in Waterford, Kerry, Knock and Donegal. Car hire can be arranged from any airport and returned to a different airport, with a one-way fee payable. There are motorways between the main cities in Ireland with Dublin being three hours drive from Cork. Ferry services from the UK to Ireland operate into Dublin, Rosslare and Belfast. Trains run hourly from Dublin to Cork taking about three hours.
