The three Aran Islands off the West Coast of Clare are easily reached from the colourful village of Doolin, each offering a unique experience with their great scenery including tiny stone-walled fields never far from the mighty Atlantic. Inish Oirr (Western Island) is closest to the mainland and has lovely walks, sea caves and Signature Discovery points, as well as some views used in the Fr Ted TV  show. Inish Méan (Middle Island) is the least visited of the 3 islands and offers the best chance of a taste of solitude. Inish Mór (Large Island) is the most visited island and can be accessed by plane as well as by ferry boat. Each of the island trips has an option to sail along the base of the Cliffs of Moher before returning to Doolin with amazing views of the majestic cliffs. The ferry company uses the most modern, comfortable boats, giving you a great experience.

Named one of the top 15 islands in the world, the Aran Islands are a must-visit on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. If you want to experience genuine native Irish culture, this is the place for you. You’ll be greeted by a traditional ‘Fáilte Romhat’ (you’re welcome) as the islanders still speak ‘Gaelic’ as their primary language. The islands are geologically an extension of the Burren – a Unesco World Heritage site and with a population of just 260 residents, it’s no wonder this island remains unspoiled. A paradise for nature lovers, history buffs, explorers or those who simply want to relax in one of4 Inish Mór Day Trip
