Guided walking Tour of Midleton Market where you meet the artisan producers to hear the story of their produce.

Guide will take you to 2 different restaurants for a starter, main course and desert – using the produce you have just seen in the Market.

Finish the Food Experience in a Midelton pub with a local drink.

This tour  needs to be pre-booked  a week or more in advance, will take 4.5 hours and more  and needs a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 40 to run. – details in Good to Know

6 people minmum to  40 people on a tour.

Meet at 10.30, start meal at 12.00 finish at 3pm in pub

Group Size

20 people max per group, minimium 6 people. For groups of more than 20 people extra guides will be provided and the group divided into a maximum of 20 in each departure.

Things to do in the area

  • Visit Midelton Distillery the home of Jameson Whiskey.
  • Take a trip to Ballycotton and walk along the cliff walk.
  • Vist Ballymaloe House and Ballymaloe Cookery School, near Ballycotton.
  • Take a trip to Cobh where you can visit Spike Island which was a prison for centuries.
  • Taste the salty air as you take  boat on Cork harbour in Cobh with a local guide.
  • Take a Cork Food History Tour in Cork city.

 

 

Good To Know

  • Midleton Market takes place on Saturday mornings only. It is a living market where you can buy produce as we walk along on the tour. There is a maximum number in each group, so as not to disturb the running of the market.
  • This private group tour needs to be pre-booked at least a week before the intended Saturday. Market takes place all year around.
  • This is a group tour with a minimum of 6 people and maximum of 20 people per tour group. If the group has more than 20 people we will orgainse 2 or more guides and vary departure time, so as to give each person the best experience of the Market.
  •  Meet your Guide at Sage Courtyard Cafe, off Midleton’s Main Street at 10.30. Walk to the Market, restaurants and local pub.  The tour will finish at 3pm.  
  • Weather conditions: tours will be running in all weather conditions except hurricanes.

  • If you have special dietary needs please advise at time of booking and we can ask to have this considered as part of the meal.

  • Parking   in Midleton  GPS points – WR8G+9J  WR8G+V3 Midleton, County Cork.

  • This is a meal over 2 courses in 3 different, exciting Midleton restaurants.

  • There is no discount for children and teenagers on this tour

  •  There is a train from Cork Kent Station to Midleton.  ( link timetable )

  • There is  a limited choice menu of locally produced foods,  with fish or meat on the Main course to be booked at time of booking.

  • Cancellation Policy – this tour can be booked and refunded up to 5 days before the tour starts. Money will be refunded to paying card, apart from a €5 booking deposit per person booked.

  • Please note that we and our guides reserve the right to refuse participation in the activity if you are intoxicated, if refuse to comply with the instructions of the guide, if there is a risk to your safety or the safety of others for any reason, or are deemed unfit or unable to participate (in the reasonable opinion of Activity Days or the Guide). In this event, your fee will not be refunded.
