Take your pick from the wide range of water based activities on offer for sea, river or lake. Take a kayak trip on a river or off the coast or a truly unique trip by day or night on Lough Hyne. For the more energetic try surfing, paddle boarding, wake boarding, coasteering or a zip-line over a lake. Try a fast paced sea safari in a zodiac or in a cruiser vessel to see whales, dolphins and other wildlife. Go powerboating at sea or take a guided boat trip in Cork or Kinsale harbour or in Roaringwater Bay where your guide will tell you the history of the area.

Cork/Lee Valley
Take a guided kayak trip around the island in the centre of Cork city in double kayaks. This trip is dependent on tides and time changes daily as a result. Minimum no people 2.

Take a kayak tour from the upper Lee Valley to Carrigadroichead castle …. Trip takes place at 5pm and lasts for 2-3 hours travelling up river in double kayaks to this ruined castle. The Guide will tell of the history of this flooded valley. Max number is 8 people

Drive 20 minutes west of Cork city to Inniscarra where the river was dammed in the 1950s. The reservoir is safe for water sports. Kayaking is available for adults (teenagers from 15 years of age), for a 2-hour period. Great place for a party or social event. Supervised but not guided, group rate for 6+

Kinsale
Spend a day’s Deep Sea Angling with an experienced skipper to guide you off the Old Head of Kinsale. The boat has all modern comforts and can take 2-12 people for a day’s fishing. Tack and rods for fishing can be rented at the pier before departure. Group rate for 6+ people.

Paddleboarding is a fun sport for all the family and is available in Kinsale. Why not book a 2-hour lesson with an expert instructor who provides all the equipment (boards, paddles, wetsuits. Bring your own footwear.).

Kinsale is a great base for Watersports – go Sea Kayaking or Coasteering in Kinsale. This is the best way to see the beautiful safe harbour of Kinsale or for the more adventurous take a trip around the Old Head of Kinsale. Take a trip with the difference at dusk and kayak with a Guide to see the phosphorescence off the sea. This trip is only available in end of July and August due to this magical natural phenomena. Meet near Glengarriff at 7.30 pm until about 10pm, weekends July & August or by arrangement. Kayak and equipment provided.Group 4 minimum, max 8 people.
Lough Hyne, West Cork is a marine nature reserve and saltwater tidal lake which was formed in the last ice age. The lough has nutrient rich water flood at high tide with a wide variety of marine life and diversity. There are rapids, lovely cliff faces, and a wide variety of marine life including scallops starfish and urchins. The Guide provides the semi-dry suit (in various sizes), boots, masks, fins, snorkel and buoyancy aid.Lough Hyne is a unique sea water lake which became Ireland’s first marine nature reserve in 1981. Sea Kayak for Experienced Adults – take the Sea Kayaks on Lough Hyne or Union Hall. Travel along Coast to see the sea caves. Kayakers need to be experienced or intermediate level Kayakers over 16 years of age. Night Kayak on Lough Hyne or Union Hall – 8:45- 11pm. Feel, see and hear the magical beauty of sea at night. In the dark the Lough lights up with phosphorescence, a magical night from 8.30 – 11pm ( or after sunset, times change depending on time of year). This natural phenomenon occurs from July to early October each year. Fitness Level 2 Price €69 (min 2). 
Surf the Atlantic Waves – Head to one of the most westerly beaches for surfing lessons on the Atlantic waves. Take a 2-hour class in the afternoon to learn the skill of surfing. Board, wetsuit and instruction are provided. Enjoy a open quiet beach as the waves crash in from the atlantic. If you would like other activities in this area we have lots to recommend.
